Payments & Booking
Q: How do I book a session?
Bookings can be made directly through Tillow K9 Academy through our booking system. Please see Book now.
Q: When do I need to pay?
Full payment is required at the time of booking. Payment will be taken through the app.
Q: What payment methods do you accept?
We currently accept bank transfer (preferred) and other payment options if agreed in advance.
1-to-1 Lessons
What is included in a 1-to-1 lesson?
Our 1-to-1 sessions are tailored to your dog’s needs and your training goals. Each lesson may include:

How long is a 1-to-1 lesson?
Sessions typically last between 60-120 minutes depending on your goals and your dog’s needs. The exact duration will be confirmed during booking.
Where do lessons take place?
All 1-to-1 lessons are conducted either in Bishop Stortford or Harlow .
Can I cancel or reschedule?
Our cancellation policy for 1-to-1 lessons:

What if my dog has behavioural issues?
1-to-1 lessons are perfect for dogs with behavioural challenges.
Will I see results after one lesson?
Training progress depends on consistency and follow-through. A single session provides guidance, techniques, and exercises, but lasting results come from practising regularly at home. To see meaningful improvements, it’s recommended to book a lesson every 3–4 weeks.
What should I bring to the lesson?

What if my dog is reactive or nervous?
Our 1-to-1 lessons are tailored to suit each dog’s temperament. We adjust pace, distance, and exercises to make your dog feel safe, comfortable, and supported while still achieving your training goals.
Walk & Train & Day Train
What is a Walk & Train / Day Train session?
Walk & Train and Day Train sessions are structured training opportunities where your dog works directly with a professional trainer. These sessions are designed to assist owners by reinforcing a training plan created during a prior 1-to-1 lesson. Day Train sessions provide longer, more immersive training throughout the day.
Do I need a 1-to-1 lesson before starting?
Yes. A 1-to-1 lesson is required before starting Walk & Train or Day Train sessions. This ensures we understand your dog’s training needs, temperament, and any behavioural challenges so the sessions are safe and effective. Does the owner attend the session?
No. Walk & Train and Day Train sessions are conducted one-on-one between the trainer and your dog. Owners receive updates after each session, including guidance and exercises to continue at home.
How long are the sessions?

Day Train sessions are longer, full-day sessions, structured around training exercises, enrichment, and reinforcement of your dog’s plan.
Where do the sessions take place?
Sessions are conducted in safe, local outdoor spaces such as parks, trails, and community areas around Sawbridgeworth, Bishop Stortford, Harlow and surrounding areas. Day Train may also include controlled on-property training areas.
What happens during a session?
During Walk & Train or Day Train, your dog will:

Practice recall and loose lead walking

Work on dog neutrality.

Work on obedience and behavioural exercises in real-life settings

Reinforce the personalised training plan from the 1-to-1 lesson

Receive structured training without distractions from owners or other dogs (unless required for socialisation)
How do I pay for sessions?
Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your session. Payment can be made easily via a secure payment link provided when you book.
Can I cancel or reschedule?

Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the session may be rescheduled.

Cancellations within 48 hours are non-refundable.

Missed sessions without notice are charged in full.

What if my dog has behavioural issues or reacts to other dogs?
Sessions are tailored to your dog’s temperament and training plan. Dogs with reactive or nervous behaviours may have modified sessions or separate walks to ensure safety. In some cases, they will work with a trained stooge dog to support their learning and improve their training outcomes.
Will my dog improve after one session?
Progress depends on consistent practice and follow-up at home. Each session reinforces the training plan, and owners receive guidance on exercises to continue for lasting results.
Structured Walking
What is Structured Walking?
Structured Walking are carefully planned walks for your dog, designed to keep tails wagging, energy balanced, and minds engaged. Whether part of your dog’s daily routine or an occasional treat, these walks can be solo adventures or in small, carefully selected groups. Each outing combines exercise, enrichment, and exploration, giving your dog the physical activity and mental stimulation they need to thrive.
Structured Daycare
What is Structured Daycare?
Structured Daycare is a bespoke alternative to traditional dog daycare, tailored to meet your dog’s individual needs. Unlike standard daycare, ours focuses on maintaining training, reinforcing routines, and supporting your dog’s lifestyle while you’re at work or out for the day. Each day is thoughtfully structured to keep your pup happy, engaged, and safe.
Do I need a 1-to-1 lesson before starting Structured Daycare?
No, a meet and greet is required to ensure we understand your dog’s temperament, behaviour, and specific needs. This can be booked through our app. Go to Book Now.
Does the owner stay during Structured Daycare?
No. Structured Daycare is fully supervised by a professional trainer, allowing your dog to enjoy activities without distractions. Owners receive updates on their dog’s progress and guidance for at-home reinforcement.
What does a day include?
Structured Daycare is an 8-hour day, including pick-up and drop-off services, and is tailored to your dog’s individual needs. Activities include:
